1965 Mustang 289 color question

I'm in the process of building AMT's 1/25 1966 Ford Mustang coupe.  I converted the quarter panel vents to resemble the 1965, still have to convert the grill.  My reason for the slight conversion is because I wanted to / did paint it in Pheonician Yellow, which from my research was offered from 64 1/2 to Feb, 1965.

I'm in the process of building the engine and looking through many 289's on ebay,  I found a few blocks that were painted black with gold valve covers and air cleaner.  I was under the assumption that they were painted Ford engine blue, which most are.

My question for you Ford fanatics, Is the black engine with gold valve covers and air cleaner correct?

Also, when did ford start using Ford engine blue paint?

Thank you in advance, will post pic's as soon as I get a new camera.  Current one is out of comission! :-(

Here are a couple with the black and gold engines.
