1939 Chevy 'Vert - Chopped and Down in the 'Weeds'.

This was a fun build quite a few years ago.

In the first pic is a fiberglassed stylized '38 Ford with a beautiful convertible top on it. Well you guys know how the wheels turn with us plastic guys, and the next thing you know i was whackin' the roof off this thing, and sort of kit bashing/scratch-building a roof for this Chevy.

Of course I have to chop the windshield to make it work. Then the hood sat too high in the front, so I wedge-cut it too the front to lower it down a bit, and had to trim a little off the top of the grill so everything fit Cool.

The air inlets in the front seemed to make the car look too busy, so those got filled in and smoothed over.

A '32 Chrysler kit donated the front and rear bumpers, and the wire wheel inserts. The rim portion that makes them deep came from a late 90's Mustang - The rear insert that you never see.

The "Connie Kit" came from a '58 Edsal kit, and the photo-etched "Chevrolet" script was a left-over from something. I finished the trim off in BMF after painting it pearl white. Only model car I've ever painted white, but I kinda like the results with the burgandy roof and interior. It's just a curbside. - nothing underneath

Anyway, here's some pics. Thanks for taking a look.
